Based on the definition of play, Veronque was a part of play when she was debating with Annette and Alain. There play was a competitive play seeing who had more power with their words. Play also can be related to this quarrel that they had because all the parents knew what had happend to the kids so acknowledgment of this is know as play as well. Play can mean many different things, and the God of Carnage is all a play in every aspect.
The Obstacles in this story were the broken tooth as well as the hamster. The broken tooth had a damaged nerve but they were not sure whether to cut it off or keep it because the nerve may be able to heal itself. As for the hamster, the dad wanted to get rid of the hamster but the hamster would not move when he set it outside. Both the hamster not moving and the partially damaged nerve are obstacles in the way of people trying to reach their objectives.
An example of an Objective is Veronique trying to protect his son. He seems to be upset with the matter that his son got hitin the face. and he is playing the role of the responsible adult who wants to make things okay. He wants to make sure the other kid knows what he has done wrong and even thought the other kid is young and didn’t know what he did wrong. He has to play the caring adult who is going to make the kid with the broken tooth feel better.

Homelessness is a large problem in Bloomington, Indiana. There are several ways to solve this issue. A very applicable solution would be to host fundraisers at various athletic events. At these events, there would be donation boxes where people could drop off household products in bins before entering the event. Also at various parking meters they would install a donation box where leftover change would go to help buy food for the homeless. This would be a great way of promoting the homeless issue in the city. Another solution to the problem, would make those on parole work at local gardens that aid homeless people. They would also have to stock shelves at homeless stores, as well and aid in building homeless shelters. These are very feasible options to assisting in the homeless problem in Bloomington.

This source provides the definition of what a parolee is and what types of things they go through when they are on parole. It also talks about whether or not parolees are changed people or not when they are set free. This enhances my solution to my local problem by learning the benefits of helping parolees and getting then used to society again. By making these parolees more responsible, they will then be able to help out others in need.

Some opposing objections could be that the homeless shelters are not fairley treated in the amount of donations they receive. This method was executed in Nashville so it would also work well in Bloomington.

In the Bloomington area there is a large number of homeless people. This first article I read addressed that problem and talked about a foundation that is looking to help this issue. The New Hope Family Shelter has begun open homes and take in donations in order to help out these homeless people. It is estimated that there are 30 families on any given night that do not have housing, and the New Hope Family Shelter is looking to put a stop to this.

Elaine Guinn is the Director of the New Hope Family Shelter. Her story is a very interesting one, as a child her family was homeless. But being a child she was not aware of her family status. They would just go on living their lives as usual, and would not address the topic of homelessness. People who are homeless still celebrate birthday and do what normal people do, homelessness is just a stage in life it is not permanent. Elaine specifies that at the New Hope Family Shelter they are sure not to use the word homeless because it is after all an experience it does not have to shape who we have yet to become.

Around Bloomington there is way to much construction. Everywhere I go there seems to be some type of constriction going on, and this really slows me down. When I am trying to get to class on time I have been late because there is construction slowing me down. There are some roads I can’t go on and I don’t know a second route to go on so I get lost. This is bothering me and I feel as if they need to hold up on all the construction and do one thing at a time.
Perhaps due to the large population of Bloomington the roads get a lot more wear and tear on them. They want to make Bloomington look really nice so they want to make all the roads look really nice.

The Hunger Games
Gary Ross’s film The Hunger Games is one of the greatest movies of all time. The film is about a girl who is chosen to participate in the annual Hunger Games. Which consists of 24 children ages 12-18 that fight to the death, and the winner is showered with glory. People opposed to the film may say that it is too violent and sends the wrong message to our youth. Our children may think that killing is the way to gain riches. But the film is much more than just violence and killing, it encompasses the journey of a girl who places her life on the line in order to save her family. The willpower and determination for her to win, makes the movie both exciting and dramatic. It describes the world that we could possibly live in, being ruled by a greater power, and being forced to fight against our will. The film is both heart-stopping and eye-opening to the world that is around us. The Hunger Games is a 2012 must-see film.
Class Evaluation
Personally, I feel as if the class is not going as well as it should be. It is not the professor’s fault at all but I feel as if we don’t feel comfortable sharing and talking in front of the rest of the class. That is partly my problem of why I don’t always talk in class. Another problem may also be that the students have not done the reading for the day so they have no idea what we are talking about. But I think maybe part of that problem is that we don’t always know if we have a reading or not. Sometimes I don’t know when readings are due, and maybe it would help if the professor reminded the class of the readings that are due the next day. But other than that I feel as if the professor is doing a great job of teaching the class, some of the stuff is confusing because I don’t understand some of the words. But the professor is explaining other things in detail which is great. I need to do a better job of asking you what words mean, but then again I feel as if people will think I am dumb for asking that question. For the most part I think it is the comfort level of students amongst each other, which is why there is not much talking going on in the class. But overall I feel that it is mainly the student’s faults for not doing the readings and that is why discussions are not going well.

The Hunger Games Critique
I looked up a movie review on The Hunger Games. There were a lot more pros about the movie then there were cons. I used the website Rotten Tomatoes to look at a review of the film, and this website had a lot of people’s opinions to critique the films. The pros were that people enjoyed the movie a lot and that the actors did a great job of portraying each character. People were saying that the movie kept them engaged the entire time because the action does not start till half way through the film. People also liked the fact that the movie described the possible world that we could live in, making it more realistic. The cons of the film were that the camera was moving around too much making it hard to watch, and cause people to become dizzy. People were also saying that the message of the movie was very wrong, kids killing other kids. People also described how the book was a lot more detailed than the movie, so by watching the movie you did not get the entire picture. But overall there were a lot more prose than cons making the film a success.

Concept of African American Sports History
In my Afro African American Sports History class the main concept of the class is to learn about and discuss African American people and their sports background. The class provides you with background on African American people and their ancestors, and how athletics played a big role in their society. The idea that professor Sailes is trying to get across to his peers is that sports play a huge role in African culture.
The Main idea is quite clear, it presents itself in the title of the class. But the professor also goes into depth on topics that come up in debates. Such as, are African people naturally more athletic than white people? The class goes into depth on these discussion topics and also brings in guest speakers who have great knowledge in this field. The class also elaborates on how early African sports have an impact on our society now. In the class we talk about how many of the sports we participate in come from early Africans. Such as group dancing, jumping events, wrestling, as well as the celebration of the chest bumps. All of these things came from early African American tribes and we go into detail on how those things have influenced us.
The professor elaborates on many points, such as dance being the factor in the decision to go to war. As well as how learning to fight with a stick and climbing a tree may be the difference between life and death. Overall the general idea of the class is to learn more about African American people and how sports played a role in their culture.
